Somatic Explorations is a warm and nurturing space for children who need support for any capabilities, development phases, or special needs. I specialize in the Anat Baniel Method®, NeuroMovement® evolved from the teachings of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais who was well ahead of his time in the understanding of brain plasticity.
The disruption due to trauma, illness, autism or undiagnosed developmental disorders derails the brain from its spontaneous process of growing and learning. Through Neuromovement, the child’s brain is given the conditions to create multitudes of new neural connections, leading to learning and transformation.
Children diagnosed on the autism spectrum (ASD) begin moving, thinking, interacting and feeling better. Family relationships are strengthened and both children and parents enjoy greater happiness and better quality of life using NeuroMovement®.
Children with cerebral palsy are empowered to form new, more effective patterns of movement, cognition, feeling and emotion. NeuroMovement® provides a foundation for genuine growth and a sense of capability.
Children with brain injuries or strokes become happier, improve academically and develop more independent and satisfying lives. NeuroMovement® retrains the brain and unlocks their potential to enjoy superior recovery outcomes.
NeuroMovement® focuses on improving the quality of the functioning of the brain itself and retrains the brain to unlocks its potential for more ease and improvement in cognitive, speech, social-emotional and motor functioning.
Children who have undiagnosed developmental delays become more effective and powerful learners, irrespective of a diagnosis. NeuroMovement® works within a structured framework to assess challenges and overcome limitations.
If you’d like to learn more about the benefits of child-centered play therapy and the Anat Baniel Method® NeuroMovembnt®, I am happy to invite you to a FREE no-obligation assessment appointment where I’ll spend an hour listening to you talk about your experiences, concerns, and expectations for therapy and provide a detailed explanation of NeuroMovement® and share information about the process, including an understanding that “the process” is not limited by traditional expectations related to diagnosis or prognosis.
I approach life with unyielding excitement and conviction. Kindness, generosity, and authenticity is my currency. I share my belief in a structure that is about meeting the child where he or she is and build on that foundation. Your role as a parent is to recognize changes as therapy progresses.
I’d love to create an opportunity for change and new experiences for your child – schedule a free assessment appointment and we can begin that journey together.
